【Major NSSFC Project】LIU Linqing: Exploring the Evaluation and Enhancement Strategies of China's Digital Industry International Competitiveness

On December 12, 2024, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences announced the approval list of the 2024Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund. ProfessorLIU Linqing, as the chief expert, was granted the project titled"Research on the Evaluation and Enhancement Strategies of China's Digital Industry International Competitiveness"(Approval No.: 24&ZD076). This marks his second approval for aNational Social Science Fund Major Project, following his 2015 project"Global Production Networks, Intellectual Property Protection, and the Enhancement of China’s Foreign Trade Competitiveness".

The project aims toinnovate theoreticallyby constructing amulti-data, multi-method, and multi-dimensional evaluation systemto systematically assess China's digital industry international competitiveness. It will identify opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses, and proposestrategic objectives, implementation pathways, spatial layouts, and key measuresfor upgrading China's digital industrial clusters.

Professor Liu’s team has long focused onindustrial international competitiveness, securing7 projectsunder the National Social Science Fund, National Natural Science Fund, and Ministry of Education. Since 2020, with support fromWHU Keli Digital Management Research CenterandWHU China Entrepreneurs Research Center, the team has shifted its focus todigital economy and management, researching topics such as digital industry competitiveness, digital clusters, digital infrastructure, and corporate digital transformation strategies.
